• Our Goal

    Our Goal

We are a collaboration of independent artists, musicians and ministries trying to raise a ton of food in a single weekend.

  • Our Manifesto

Home Aide is designed to create noise and joy around food justice. Feeding our community is what we are called to and we love this work, so we believe we can make it fun for everyone. This project reveals areas in food justice that need sustainable, community-based solutions, and a community of doers who want to solve these problems.  We believe the community can and will take care of itself if given the avenues, and that it can be sustainable. The first step is our food raiser events, where we create art, share music, and celebrate our neighborhoods. We make this sustainable by uniting business owners and consumers who care for their neighbor, with those who are in need, by providing food homes to local businesses where consumers can drop off canned goods that we transport to local food pantries.

We are asking folks to support these ideas with their time, dollars, and/or, simply, cans. As the Home Aide drive ends on the 24th, we plan to continue to provide food support through food collection, food transportation,

Are you willing to buy a coffee, bring a can?

  • Who gets the food?

We are giving the food to 3 organizations.

The Association of Community Ministries who offer a number of social services by zip code in Louisville including food banks.

Central Louisville Community Ministries provides a food bank, free clothing, financial assistance and social work for central Louisville residents.

Change Today Change Tomorrow who focus on food support in Louisvilles’ West End.

Dare 2 Care who supports community wide food access.

    • Arte Cans

Arte Cans represent our progress toward our goal to raise 1 ton of food during the Home Aide Food Raiser.

Each Arte Can represents 250 LBS of food raised.

Each Can has been painted by an independent artist working to better our community.

This collaboration of artists have all agreed to allow these works of art to be auctioned at the close of the food drive during the Community Block Party Sunday Aug 24th at Broadway Baptist Church, 3pm – 6pm.

Proceeds are going directly to the artist and the food drive.

    • Food Homes

      Food Homes

Food homes are canned food receptacles designed to be places for people to drop off food at local businesses! Drop off and watch as you and your neighbors’ generous donations pile up to feed your community!

Home Aide picks up donations and delivers them to local United Community Ministries locations. If you’d like to find your local UCM location, text your zip code to the Home Aide Food Hotline 331-642-0813, and we will connect you!
